I get asked all the time how long my family and I will be living in Australia. Most people are surprised when I answer with what I know today; a contract end date. Is it possible we’ll stay longer or come home at the end of the current contract? Yes on both counts. Both are possibilities that come with their own set of challenges and opportunities. Clearly, the hardest part about not knowing exactly what’s next is navigating an uncertain future. However, I know I’m not alone with that challenge.
You’ve probably seen this guy, Chris Koo, do Beyonce’s Crazy in Love dance, but I was mesmerized as I watched it again this week. Yes, he’s a fantastic dancer, but that’s not what drew me in, it was his commitment, passion and sheer joy that sets his dance apart from so many other imitators. If you’ve ever wondered, “What does commitment look like?” this is it.
We all want to make a leap.
We are all constantly either making leaps or standing still. Some leaps are bigger than others but when we start to think “we can’t” is when it’s the beginning of the end. For some, it can be a leap to show up as your true, authentic self, and for others, it can be a leap to radically change the direction or structure of the organization – both bring fear, choices and indecision.
